Sue, Margaret and
Alan seen here discussing
Tobias Ellwood's petition against over development. They are outside the proposed development site, in Gresham Road, that
they have been very active in getting rejected by the Council. The original proposal was for 13 flats and 8 parking
places, it was rejected unanimously by the Council and has now gone to appeal. The appeal hearing took place on Tues Feb.
20th in the Town Hall, with a good turn out of local residents. We now await a decision by the Inspector.
Despite the wishes of the local residents and their acceptance that a development would happen on the site
the Inspector has accepted the plan by the Developers, Parkbury, for this overly large building seemingly with no thought
at all for the local Community. We are very disappointed about this and are now taking advice to see if there is anything
that can be done to overthrow this decision. It is another example of politicians being out of touch with local
people.
Thanks
to all interested residents who attended this appeal.
